Issue Position: Environment - Parks and Conservation

Keeping our trails and recreational spaces open, safe, enjoyable, and sustainable for ourselves and for generations to come is an essential component of protecting our natural resources and the wildlife that take refuge there. Trails and recreational spaces also provide a wealth of benefits for hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts who utilize them on a daily basis. Throughout my tenure in Congress, I have strongly supported programs that would protect our open spaces and trails, such as the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the National Park Service's Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program, which help to ensure that all of our outdoor spaces are adequately protected for years to come.
