Burns Kicks Off Campaign To Return To Congress

(Statesboro, Georgia) -Max Burns, former Congressman running to represent Georgia's new 12th District, officially kicked off his campaign to return to Congress last night at a fish-fry in Statesboro. Burns, who was joined by his wife Lora, his eldest son Andrew and over 225 Burns Backers from across the new 12th District, made the announcement at Snella's Place after completing a four-day, twenty-two county "Down Home" bus tour through the district. Burns filed the necessary paperwork to put his name on the ballot Monday in Atlanta.

"I've visited every county in this district and listened to what's important to you and your neighbors, and friends my agenda remains light on taxes and less on government; heavy on security to keep our nation strong; pro-business to creates jobs and opportunities for our communities; and reforms to balance our federal budget, ending the reckless, wasteful spending," said Burns.

"Folks if you will send me back to Washington, I'll support economic growth to create good paying jobs for our communities. I'll work for a safer, secure America. I'll fight for budget reforms for a more prosperous America. And, I'll preserve the freedoms and values of faith and family," said Burns.

"We've been very blessed with a number of great Congressmen that have represented this area, whether it's Doug Barnard, Roy Rowland, Charlie Norwood, or Jack Kingston. We've always had strong leadership, but now we've got a Congressman who has simply not provided any leadership whatsoever, and southeast Georgians are not accustomed to that," said Burns

"We need a representative in Congress who will fight for our conservative values that honor the rights and freedom of every individual. We need a representative who supports our family farms by advancing policies that strengthen Georgia's agriculture businesses. We need a representative who works to simplify and lower our families' tax burden by stopping the government from taking too much and giving us too little in return. And we need a representative who leads with a vision of opportunity for our children and families by focusing America on quality education. That is the kind of Congressman this district wants and that is the type of leadership I will provide," said Burns
