“I remain appalled that Speaker Johnson and other extremist Republicans are weaponizing the powers of Congress as they try to rewrite the history of January 6th, which was a brutal, deadly insurrection. There is no defending it.
Releasing thousands of hours of Capitol security footage on an extreme right wing social media platform – over the strenuous objections of the U.S. Capitol Police – remains unpatriotic.
I will continue to push back on Republican efforts to undercut the hard work of those charged with keeping us safe and compromise America’s national security. This is not transparency; this is dangerous and irresponsible.”
