Statement

Date: Feb. 9, 2024
Location: Lansing, Michigan

“Every Michigander should see a reflection of themselves within our leadership and administration. The contributions of Black Michiganders to our great state cannot be overstated, and the contributions of our Black appointees are no different. They are integral to building a brighter, more equitable future for Michiganders, helping us to lower costs, get students a better and more affordable education, and ensure every vote can be cast and counted. They make history every day and I am proud to honor each of them during Black History Month.”
