"This emergency funding package is necessary to keep Americans safe at home and support our allies abroad, and I was proud to vote to advance it. This legislation makes key investments in our Southern border, helps our allies like Israel and Ukraine defend themselves in brutal wars against terrorists and war criminals, and delivers needed humanitarian aid to the innocent people caught in the crosshairs of these conflicts, like those in Gaza.

This bill would make long overdue investments in security for our Southern border and help stop the flow of deadly drugs like fentanyl from coming into our country -- but the truth is, it's not enough. I was encouraged by my colleagues' talks to draft a bipartisan deal that will help address our broken immigration system and strengthen our Southern border, and we must come back to the table to continue those negotiations. We owe it to the American people to find a compromise that helps secure our border and stop the flow of fentanyl coming into our communities -- and I am committed to being part of the solution."
