"Thanksgiving is a time for all of us to reflect on the great blessings we share as West Virginians and Americans. I was always taught that if you can count your blessings, you can share your blessings, and I have proudly passed this lesson along to my children and grandchildren.

Today and every day, I am thankful for the privilege to serve the great people of West Virginia -- it has truly been the honor of my life. I am so blessed with the riches of a loving family and friends, a beautiful state to call home and the knowledge that together with you all we are truly a statewide community with an unbreakable bond. I am also grateful to those who make incredible sacrifices both here and abroad to keep us all safe and free. I ask you to please join me in taking a moment today to thank those brave men and women who risk their lives to serve and protect. Their courage and strength serve as an inspiration to us all.

Each day presents its own unique challenges, but we must always remember the blessing of living in the greatest country on Earth.
