Rep. Palmer says Biden "clueless' on energy

Press Release

Date: Sept. 12, 2023
Location: Washington, DC

"First of all, this president is clueless. I'm normally a little more reserved in my comments about people but, in this case, this president is clueless. I think he is a danger for the future of the country, particularly with his energy policies."

BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT

"This going to Alaska on 9/11 is one of the more insensitive things that he's done. It also literally shows how clueless he is about the dilemma that we find ourselves in, becoming more and more dependent on China and on the Middle East and adversarial nations like Venezuela for something that is important to our economic security and national security, and that's energy."

BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT

"First of all, we're not going to completely eliminate hydrocarbons, particularly natural gas. Just think about pharmaceuticals. 99% of your pharmaceuticals require natural gas. Everything that people have come in contact with this morning has some connection to hydrocarbons, whether it's oil, natural gas, or coal."

BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT

"These are people who are scientifically uneducated. They don't understand physics, they don't understand how the world works."

BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT

"China is already building nuclear. France gets about 70% of their energy from nuclear. A lot of these environmentalist I think have another agenda, and it's really an anti-American agenda. It's not so much about the environment. And I can assure you … that the Chinese know more about our environmental laws than we do and there's a lot of misinformation up there, a lot of foreign influence funding some of these groups. People really need to be aware of what's happening in our country."

BREAK IN TRANSCRIPT

"If we have a majority in the House or Senate but a Democrat in the White House, they'll veto everything we pass, but if we've got a Republican in the White House he'll sign everything we pass. And it is absolutely critical, whether you're talking about energy or national security or you pick the issue, it's absolutely critical that we hold the majority in the House, get the majority back in the Senate, and get the White House."
