LEADER JEFFRIES STATEMENT ON FEBRUARY JOBS REPORT

Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 311,000 in February.

"President Biden has brought the American economy roaring back after a once-in-a-century global pandemic and has created over 12 million jobs during the first two years of his presidency, a record in American history.

House Democrats are united in our mission to lower costs for everyday Americans, create good-paying jobs and expand economic opportunity in every zip code. We will continue to partner with President Biden and look forward to advancing the bold agenda outlined by the President that puts People Over Politics by investing in families, lowering the deficit and preserving Medicare for the next quarter century.

While House Republicans perpetuate the Big Lie, threaten a devastating default on our country's debt and hide their budget from the public, House Democrats are working with President Biden to protect Social Security, strengthen Medicare and build an economy that works for everyday Americans."
