House Agriculture Committee Chairman David Scott issued the following statement in regard to the contract negotiations between American railroads and their union workers:
"As Chairman of our House Agriculture Committee, I am working with all sides on this very critical labor management relations issue to bring about a resolution that avoids a strike, and I stand at the ready to provide further assistance if needed."
