Rosendale Votes Against NDAA

Statement

Date: July 14, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Defense

Today, Representative Matt Rosendale voted against the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023. Mr. Rosendale issued the following statement:

"Instead of empowering our military and providing them with the resources necessary to secure and defend our nation, this year's NDAA is full of woke diversity and inclusion initiatives. This legislation would force Special Operations Command to waste its time on creating a diversity and inclusion plan instead of forming strategies to successfully combat the enemy. Additionally, this legislation is filled with green agenda provisions, requiring base construction to include EV charging stations, and a pilot program for plant-based meat alternatives. With a bill like this, it is no surprise that the U.S. Army has only met 40% of its enlisted recruiting mission.

"This $800 billon spending package does more harm than good for our service members, and America's taxpayers should not be funding provisions that do little to help the preparedness and readiness of our troops for combat. This is another opportunity for the Democrats to advance their radical agenda on the military, experimenting on our men and women in uniform. I oppose the NDAA, and I will do everything I can to protect our servicemembers from being lab rats for the Left and to ensure that they are given the resources they need to successfully defend our nation."
