Date: Sept. 11, 2022
Location: Albuquerque, N.M.

Today, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury released the following statement recognizing the 21st anniversary of 9/11:

"Today, we join together to remember the 2,977 individuals we lost to the 9/11 terrorist attacks 21 years ago. In New Mexico, we are honoring Alfred Marchand -- a flight attendant from Alamogordo who was tragically killed when his assigned flight crashed into the World Trade Center. As we continue to mourn these devastating losses, we extend our deepest gratitude to our first responders whose bravery and courage saved so many lives 21 years ago. In Congress, I will continue to fight for the resources that our heroic first responders need to care for their visible and invisible wounds.

"New Mexico's rich diversity and history is our strength, united across many cultures. As our communities continue to experience the impacts of 9/11, we must continue to care for one another, and push back against attempts to divide us. Today and every day, we honor those we lost and the bravery of those who saved lives by carrying our love and resilience forward."
