Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Frank J. Mrvan, Chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Modernization, celebrated the Senate passage of the Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act.

Through his role on the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, Congressman Mrvan is an original cosponsor of this measure and he actively supported this measure through the Committee approval process. On July 13, 2022, the House approved the final version of the legislation in a bipartisan manner with a vote of 342 to 88. As the Senate has approved this measure, it is now submitted to President Biden to be signed into law.

According to the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, the Honoring Our PACT Act will treat toxic exposure as a cost of war by addressing the full range of issues impacting toxic-exposed veterans, including access to earned benefits and healthcare through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Congressman Mrvan stated, "I joined the House Veterans' Affairs Committee in order to take action in a bipartisan manner to ensure our veterans receive the world-class benefits they deserve. This historic legislation does just that, and I am proud to have been a part of the legislative process to see this bill through to the finish line. I appreciate the bipartisan support of this initiative by so many other Members of the House and our Senate colleagues. This landmark action will ensure that veterans know their country will honor and care for them in gratitude for their service to defending our freedoms. I look forward to continuing my positive and productive relationship with the members of the veterans community and stand ready to continue to assist all veterans however our office can."
