Graham Statement on House Dems Voting to Increase Taxes, Worsen Inflation, Supersize IRS

Senate Budget Committee Ranking Member Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement after the House of Representatives passed the Democrats' reconciliation bill that would increase taxes, do nothing to fix inflation and supersize the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

"Democrats closed the deal on a Manchin-Schumer bill that will add another 87,000 agents to the IRS army. As bad as that is, it's not all the damage they are doing. Liberal Democrats created a new gas tax and added billions of dollars in higher taxes that will be passed on to the American consumer. All the while, the Biden Administration refuses to admit that families are already grappling with the record-high inflation they created.

"Liberal Democrats may have won this legislative battle, but the American people will lose from this reckless legislation. To the American people: You alone can stop this madness in November."
