Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 1808, the so-called "Assault Weapons Ban."
"Speaker Pelosi's disdain for the Second Amendment rights of Americans is never ending. At every possible turn, Democrats are trying to chip away at the American people's constitutional rights, and today's vote is yet another threat to our fundamental freedoms. This deeply flawed bill would ban some of the most common firearms owned by millions of law-abiding citizens while doing nothing to address the root cause of violence. I will continue to stand up against any partisan attempts to shred the Second Amendment, just as my constituents have always counted on me to do."
