Rodgers, Bilirakis Commend Bipartisan Solutions to Protect Americans' Safety and Online Security

House Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee Republican Leader Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) released the following statement commending the passing of bipartisan legislation that protects Americans' consumer safety and strengthens online security.

"The Energy and Commerce Committee has a rich history of being one of the most bipartisan committees in the House. We are pleased to continue that tradition today, which has culminated in the passage of several bipartisan bills that will help safeguard the U.S. against ransomware attacks, advance online notarization practices, and protect children from ingesting hazardous products. We applaud the bipartisan work of our committee colleagues Reps. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) and Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) for their dedication to improving people's lives and reinforcing their safety on and offline."

RANSOMWARE Act (H.R. 4551), introduced by Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and cosponsored by Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL).
Securing and Enabling Commerce Using Remote and Electronic Notarization Act of 2021 (H.R. 3962), introduced by Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) and cosponsored by Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), and others.
