Sen. Ossoff-Championed Bipartisan Bill to Strengthen Veterans' Health Care Passes Senate

Today, the U.S. Senate passed bipartisan legislation championed by U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff to ensure veterans get the health care they deserve.

The Senate voted in an overwhelmingly bipartisan manner, 84-14, to pass the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our PACT Act of 2022, bringing veterans who were exposed to burn pits and other toxins one step closer to receiving the health care and benefits they deserve.

The bill will expand VA health care access for thousands of veterans who suffer from health conditions related to burn pits and other toxic exposures, many of whom were exposed during their service in Iraq or Afghanistan.

"A month ago, some said it was impossible but today the Senate passed the most significant strengthening of VA health care for America's Vets in decades," Sen. Ossoff said.

The bipartisan legislation will also strengthen federal research on toxic exposures and the health issues that may result from them.
