Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) released the following statement on the Supreme Court's ruling in West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

"Today's Supreme Court ruling is a win for energy security in Minnesota and across the nation. The Star Tribune has reported that 40% of homes in Minnesota are going to experience blackouts this year. In our modern, 21st century world, Minnesotans should not have to be thinking about whether the lights will turn on, whether the AC will work in the summer, or whether the heat will work in the winter. Our grid has been overwhelmed because of left-wing policies forcing a Green New Deal transition away from reliable energy when the technology is not yet ready.

"This ruling finally restores common sense, and Americans will be better off because of it. For far too long unelected Federal bureaucrats at the EPA have abused their regulatory authorities to stifle innovation and growth in the American energy sector, beyond the scope granted to them by law. This decision by the Court returns power to elected lawmakers to make energy and climate policy that both ensures our country has clean air and water while Americans will have greater access to affordable and reliable energy."
