Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) released this week his "Toolkit for Town Managers' to help local officials across Maine's Second Congressional District take advantage of federal resources like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to make infrastructure investments in their communities. The toolkit provides guidance on how officials can apply for funding to address specific needs in their towns, from new roads and bridges, to broadband infrastructure, school busses, municipal building repairs, and more.

"I've talked for a long time about the impact the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill we got signed into law last year could have on our state, and now it's time to put this law into action." said Golden, "It is my priority to help as many towns as possible take full advantage of these funding opportunities. I encourage every Mainer in the Second District to make sure their town manager has this toolkit so our staff can work with them to create jobs and make long-awaited improvements to their communities."

The toolkit focuses on the resources available through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and also provides information on other timely federal funding opportunities. Golden was at the forefront of efforts last year to get the BIL passed through the House. Last summer, Congressman Golden and his colleagues in the Problem Solvers Caucus unveiled a bipartisan infrastructure framework. Their framework was the basis of the blueprint agreed to by the White House and Senate negotiators two weeks later and passed through the Senate. The BIL was signed into law in November 2021.
