Statement

Date: June 8, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Judicial Branch

Senator Braun released the following statement after a man was arrested outside Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's home with weapons claiming he had come to assassinate the justice because of his judicial beliefs.

"Yesterday, after weeks of protests outside Supreme Court Justices homes and months of overheated rhetoric from some on the left, an individual was arrested outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh claiming he wanted to kill him. We are grateful to the officers who prevented a tragedy. Intimidating a judge at any level is a threat to maintaining a democratic republic. Those who are using this reckless rhetoric must lower the temperature, and I encourage the Senate Majority Leader, the President of the United States, and all elected officials to condemn these actions clearly and forcefully." -- Senator Mike Braun
