Congressman Moulton's Service Academy Nominations Now Open

Statement

The Office of Congressman Seth Moulton is now accepting applications for nominations to four of the five U.S. military service academies.

The deadline to apply is October 31, 2022. This year, the full application can be completed via Google Forms. More information about the application process and frequently asked questions can be found here.

Each year, every Member of Congress can nominate students within their congressional district to attend one of America's military service academies. Congressman Moulton, a Marine who served in Iraq, may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to the Sixth District.

Nominations apply to the following service academies:

U.S. Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, NY
U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, MD
U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO
U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY
Please note that the U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Each applicant for a nomination must meet the following eligibility requirements as of July 1st of the year of admission to the academy. These requirements are set by the academies, not our office:

Be at least 17 years old, but not have passed the 23rd birthday (25th birthday for the Merchant Marine Academy)
Be a U.S. citizen or national
Be unmarried, not pregnant, and without legal obligation to support children or other dependents
Reside within the boundaries of the 6th Congressional District of Massachusetts
Meet the medical, physical and academic requirements of the Academy
Nominations are based on a "whole person" evaluation. Factors such as academic achievements, extra-curricular activities, leadership skills, character and motivation are taken into consideration and compared with other applicants.

In addition to applying for a nomination from our office, you must also apply directly to the academy of your choice.
