Sen. Cramer Participates in Spirit Lake Nation Roundtable

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) joined Spirit Lake Nation Chairman Douglas Yankton for a roundtable on regional issues ranging from fish and wildlife to health care initiatives. Participants included Governor Doug Burgum, Devils Lake Mayor Dick Johnson, community leaders, and stakeholders.

"Thank you to Spirit Lake Nation Chairman Yankton for the invitation to visit and discuss topics important to the region including local health care initiatives, fish and wildlife management, lake elevation, and tourism," said Senator Cramer.

The roundtable opened with an update from Chairman Yankton on federal fish and wildlife issues and regional health care initiatives. Senator Cramer pledged to provide assistance to ensure Spirit Lake Nation and the greater Devils Lake community had access to the resources they need to improve health care access and quality.

"It was important to hear about the needs on the ground firsthand and the efforts by the community to address ongoing issues. We will continue to work together to ensure Devils Lake and its neighbors get the resources they need to improve access to quality health care," continued Senator Cramer.

In addition to regional health care initiatives, the roundtable discussed lake elevation and tourism.
