Today, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) announced that he will co-sponsor H.R. 7830, the Babies Need More Formula Now Act. The bill increases the supply of formula, removes regulatory barriers, increases FDA flexibility, and imposes new transparency measures to ensure that shortages like this never happen again.
The bill was originally introduced by Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA).
Rep. Budd said in a statement:
"The infant formula shortage is an emergency and is one more consequence of the Biden administration's mismanagement hurting North Carolina families. That's why I'm proud to sponsor a comprehensive solution to loosen regulations and increase flexibility to make sure shortages of critical supply never happen again."
