Celebrating School Choice

Statement

Date: Jan. 25, 2022
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: K-12 Education

To commemorate the 12th anniversary of National School Choice Week, Congressman Lamborn joined 17 of his colleagues in introducing House Resolution 882. This resolution recognizes the importance of school choice and designates the week of January 23rd through January 29th as National School Choice Week. Congressman Lamborn is a stalwart supporter of school choice and believes every child is unique and deserves an effective, challenging, and motivating education.

Congressman Lamborn issued the following statement:

"School choice is a growing movement. In a time when COVID-19 has severely limited access to quality education, more families than ever before are wanting to choose the best education for their children. Parents realize that it is critical to choose a school that allows their child the best chance of meeting their educational potential. We should not allow a zip code to determine a child's future. We must stop confining students to schools which fail year after year and must continue to empower parents to select the educational environment that best fit the needs and strengths of their children. I will remain committed to supporting the rights of parents by expanding educational opportunities and school choice for America's next generation."
