Issues: Foreign Aid

Dear Chairman Coons and Ranking Member Graham

I write to emphasize the importance of continued security assistance funding for one of the United States' great partners, Israel.

Israel is a beacon of hope in a region burdened with instability and chaos. The special relationship between the United States and Israel has brought our nations and people closer and provided strategic national security advantages for both.[1]

Israel is under constant threat from terrorists within its own borders and from every direction beyond. In the face of these threats, U.S. security assistance has proven to save countless lives every year.[2] U.S.- Israeli cooperation in defense, intelligence and beyond helps both countries maintain their safety and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the region.

We have seen time and time again the attacks that Israel has faced on the international stage.[3] [4] Therefore, I urge you to include $3.3 billion in security assistance to Israel for Fiscal Year 2023, so that we may continue to display unity with Israel and show the world that our relationship is unyielding.

Thank you for your consideration of this request. I look forward to continuing our work together to advance the U.S.--Israel relationship.

Sincerely,
