Smith Statement on President Biden's State of the Union Address

Today, Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) released the following statement after President Biden's State of the Union address:

"During tonight's State of the Union address, I hoped to hear how President Biden intended to make changes to his failed foreign and domestic agendas, but unfortunately he's doubling down on the same misguided policies that have led to crisis after crisis. Inflation is at a 40-year high, and families everywhere are struggling to make ends meet. This administration's failed foreign policy has emboldened our adversaries and led to chaos around the world. Our country desperately needs strong leadership at home and abroad, but tonight we only heard more of the same from the president.

"Republicans have a plan to rebuild our economy, give parents control over their children's education and well-being, protect our freedoms, unleash American energy, hold China accountable, and ensure the United States of America leads the world.

"Nebraskans sent me to Washington to fight for them, and I will continue to hold the Biden administration accountable while pushing for policies that will put our great nation back on the path to prosperity and opportunity for all."
