Today, Rep. Marc Veasey (TX-33) announced $33.8 million in additional grant funding from the American Rescue Plan to support the Fort Worth Trinity Metro recovery in the 33rd District of Texas from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fort Worth Trinity Metro is an essential transportation system that has maintained service throughout the pandemic across bus, paratransit, and commuter rail modes.

"Thousands across North Texas depend on the Fort Worth Trinity Metro to safely and effectively commute daily," said Congressman Marc Veasey. "Last year, I was proud to vote for the American Rescue Plan that delivered much-needed resources to help our transportation system recover and get our country back on track from the pandemic. Now, this critical package is continuing to deliver much-needed funding to our Fort Worth Trinity Metro to help its recovery as we ramp up travel operations and folks start commuting again."

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP), which President Biden signed on March 11, 2021, includes $30.5 billion in federal funding to support the nation's public transportation systems as they continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and help the President's call to vaccinate the U.S. population.
