Statement by Congressman Kildee on President Biden's State of the Union

Statement

"Over the last year, President Biden and Congress have passed major legislation to accelerate America's economic growth and fix our crumbling infrastructure. We've made progress, but there is more work to do to fight inflation and lower costs for Michigan families.

"In Congress, my top focus is fixing supply chains and reducing the cost of everyday expenses like prescription drugs, gas and child care. And legislation like the America COMPETES Act will help make us more competitive by bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. from foreign countries like China, including critical components like semiconductors that are essential to automotive workers in my district.

"We must continue to support the people of Ukraine, who are bravely fighting back against Vladimir Putin's ongoing assault. I know that the President will continue to work with Congress to provide economic, humanitarian and security support to Ukraine and take decisive measures to sanction, isolate and weaken the Russian government."
