Rep. Budd said in a statement:
"Abortion providers have a moral obligation to ensure that they are not aiding and abetting the abuse of women enslaved in the sex trade. The Stopping Traffickers and Their Accomplices Act provides needed accountability to protect women and unborn children."
Jon Schweppe, Director of Policy and Government Affairs for the American Principles Project, said:
"We know, from undercover reporting and from various studies, that the abortion industry is very much complicit in our nation's epidemic of sex trafficking and sex slavery. Thousands of women who have been coerced into sex acts seek assistance from abortion providers every year, and these providers simply take their money and turn a blind eye. This is outrageous. The Stopping Traffickers and Their Accomplices Act is a common sense bill that would require the abortion industry to finally take sex trafficking seriously by requiring that providers complete a training program and by implementing new reporting requirements. American Principles Project is proud to endorse the bill."
