Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Abortion

Today, Rep. Ralph Norman (SC-5) joined Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13) to introduce a resolution in the House of Representatives recognizing January 22nd as National Sanctity of Human Life Day.

Since the Roe v. Wade decision 49 years ago, on January 22, 1973, an estimated 62 million lives have been lost to abortion. This resolution "encourages every American to reflect on the value of life and defending life at all stages."

"Honoring the National Sanctity of Life Day reminds us of the important fight we have taken upon ourselves in defense of life," said Rep. Norman on Friday. "Though there's progress, we must continue to stay energized in protecting the rights of the unborn. As long as I'm in Congress, I will never stop fighting for the sanctity of life."

Rep Budd added, "Unborn children deserve the most fundamental right of all: The right to live. On National Sanctity of Life Day, we honor and remember the millions of lives unjustly ended through abortion and recommit ourselves to building a culture of life throughout our nation. That is what I will fight for, for as long as I hold public office."
