Release: Hill Votes against $2.5 Trillion Debt Limit Increase

Statement

Date: Dec. 15, 2021
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Monetary Policy

Rep. French Hill (AR-02) today issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to increase the debt limit by $2.5 trillion.

"Inflation has reached a nearly 40-year high and Arkansans continue to pay more for food, gasoline, and utilities but Democrats want to spend trillions more to enact their agenda. Their solution to an unprecedented amount of spending is more spending which will only further exacerbate these problems. I could not in good faith vote to raise the debt ceiling by $2.5 trillion while Democrats continue to move their partisan, reckless tax-and-spending agenda through Congress."
