Kuster Statement on FDA Authorization of Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 Vaccine for Children Age 5-11

Statement

Date: Oct. 29, 2021
Location: Concord, NH

Today, following the Food and Drug Administration's decision to extend the Emergency Use Authorization for Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine to children aged 5 to 11, Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement:

"COVID-19 vaccines are crucial to overcoming the pandemic, and today's FDA announcement that children age 5 to 11 can now safely be vaccinated is a monumental step in our efforts to crush COVID-19.

"In the coming days, the CDC will issue recommendations for the vaccine -- the final step to enable millions of children across the country to safely get vaccinated. This is wonderful news for families, teachers, and our nation as a whole. This will make our schools safer and protect not only students and school faculty, but the families they come home to. I encourage every Granite Stater who is not yet vaccinated to protect themself, their loved ones, and their community by getting any of the three safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines they are eligible for."
