Press Release

Date: Oct. 1, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. was named 2020 Federal Legislator of the Year by Safari Club International (SCI), a leading organization dedicated to protecting hunting opportunities and promoting wildlife conservation worldwide. SCI has a network representing 7.2 million hunters around the world.

"Safari Club International works day in and day out to protect the sportsman's way of life, and I could not be more proud of being named Federal Legislator of the Year. Since becoming a member of Congress, I have fought tooth and nail to stop attempts that would strip our ability to hunt on public lands as well as our Constitutional right to bear arms," said Senator Marshall. "Some of my fondest memories include hunting with my dad and now with my own sons back in Kansas. It is so important for every hunter to have the opportunity to pass these traditions on to future generations and with the Safari Club's help, I will continue to fight here in the Senate to protect that right."

"Safari Club International is honored to recognize Senator Marshall as our 2020 Federal Legislator of the Year for his leadership in representing hunters on the Hill and in the field. Doc is a conservationist who practices what he preaches. Hunters and anglers couldn't have a greater champion in the U.S. Senate," said Ben Cassidy, SCI's EVP for International Government & Public Affairs
