Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) released the following statement after his vote on the House Democrat National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

"Our brave servicemen and women deserve all the support we can give them and that includes a pay raise. That's why it is so offensive that House Democrats would use this bill to push a series of radically liberal priorities. The House Democrat NDAA would force our daughters to be drafted into the military. The House Democrat NDAA implements dangerous "red flag' gun confiscation orders. The House Democrat NDAA doesn't prevent Critical Race Theory from being taught to our troops. The House Democrat NDAA would hinder National Guard deployment to address the crisis on the southern border. The House Democrat NDAA even gives financial institutions safe harbor to those who sell marijuana. I cannot in good conscience endorse these proposals. I hope that the NDAA is improved in the conference committee before it comes back to the House for a final vote."
