Rep Carter on Expanding Hunting and Fishing Opportunities

The U.S. Department of the Interior through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is opening or expanding hunting and fishing opportunities at 88 national wildlife refuges and one national fish hatchery across approximately 2.1 million acres.

This final rule represents the most significant opening and expansion of hunting and fishing opportunities by the Service in recent history. Specifically, to Georgia this rule creates new opportunities at Bond Swamp National Wildlife Refuge & Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.

"Expanding our wildlife habitats for recreational purposes is fantastic to sportsmen nationwide" Congressman Buddy Carter (GA-01) said. "The sportsman's industry needs help from Congress in order to remain an integral part of our communities, as well as to continue to raise and teach responsible hunting practices that encourage conservation and growth."
