Steube Demands Accountability for Wuhan Institute of Virology COVID-19 Leak

U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) has joined colleagues in calling for accountability from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) for the COVID-19 virus following the release of a COVID-19 origins report by the House Foreign Affairs Committee Republicans.

"It is clear that the Chinese Communist Party is complicit in the coverup of the COVID-19 virus after it was released from the Wuhan Institute of Virology," Steube said. "Millions of deaths across the globe are the consequence of their malfeasance and corruption but the Biden Administration has responded with nothing but silence and inaction. Why is Joe Biden so afraid of China?"

The Origins of COVID-19 report presents a powerful case that the COVID-19 virus originated from the WIV sometime in September 2019. In addition to supporting the Foreign Affairs Committee investigation, Steube joined colleagues in sending a letter to the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) inquiring about their oversight on other foreign animal testing projects in addition to the insecure Wuhan labs.

Steube recently slammed the Biden Administration for failing to investigate claims that the COVID-19 virus may have originated from the WIV and urged the Chinese Communist Party to cover the financial damages from COVID-19.

Steube also joined colleagues in sending a letter to Congressional leadership in 2020, urging them to ensure that no stimulus funding is sent directly, or indirectly, to the WIV, following suspicion of the COVID-19 origin.
