Congresswoman Stansbury Appointed to Three Important Subcommittees for New Mexico

WASHINGTON -- Today, Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.) announced that she will be serving on three additional influential subcommittees key to New Mexico communities. Last month, Congresswoman Stansbury was appointed to serve on the House Subcommittee on Water, Oceans, and Wildlife, under the House Natural Resources Committee. This week Stansbury was formally appointed to serve on three additional subcommittees, including the Subcommittee on Indigenous Peoples under House Natural Resources, and the Subcommittee on Energy and on Research and Technology on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. The full list of the Congresswoman's subcommittee assignments includes:

The Congresswoman has also joined multiple Congressional caucuses to champion issues important to New Mexico, including the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the Democratic Women's Caucus, and the LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus.

"As the first woman elected to represent State House District 28 in 2018, and now as one of the 119 women currently serving in Congress, I am deeply committed to advancing women in leadership, gender equity, and LGBTQIA+ rights and equality," said Congresswoman Stansbury.
