Location: Washington, DC

Washington, DC -- After urging Congress to return to normal work operations, U.S. Representative Greg Pence (IN-06) issued the following statement regarding today's first bipartisan House Committee on Energy and Commerce in-person meeting since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

"This was a long-awaited day for many on House Energy and Commerce -- some of whom have never even seen inside the committee room. I am pleased to be in Washington today, continuing to advocate for an all of the above approach to Energy on behalf of Hoosiers back at home in Indiana's Sixth District," Pence said.

Weeks prior, during the House Energy and Commerce full committee markup, Congressman Pence was one of the only members to attend in-person.

"While I am pleased that in-person committee work is back, we still have a long way to go. Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats are taking advantage of proxy voting for their own political purposes. With many Americans returning to work and normal operations -- Congress needs to be setting an example. It's time to finally re-open the people's House." Pence concluded.

Last Tuesday, Congressman Pence joined 136 of his colleagues in a letter urging Speaker Pelosi to fully reopen the House.

Congressman Greg Pence represents Indiana's 6th District. From Columbus, Indiana, Pence advocates for conservative Hoosier values as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
