Washington, D.C. -- Today, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) introduced the Iron Dome Reinforcement Act.

The bill prohibits certain foreign assistance to the Palestinian Authority or the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). If the Department of State cannot certify that no U.S. taxpayer funds are being used as payouts or pensions to the families of dead Palestinian terrorists, then all funds sent to Palestinian authorities would be redirected to Israel's "Iron Dome' program which protects their country from Palestinian terror attacks.

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

"We give millions of taxpayer dollars to the Palestinian Authority every year, and it's estimated that they spend 7 percent of their annual budget as payouts and bonuses to the families of dead terrorists. This is unacceptable. The American taxpayer should not have to worry that their dollars are going to support Islamic terrorists. Taxpayers deserve more accountability about where our foreign aid is spent and that's what this bill will help accomplish.
