COVID Subcommittee Member Malliotakis Says Biden Must Go Further To Deliver Answers on COVID Origins

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) today released the below statement following reports that President Biden is asking the intelligence community to "redouble their efforts" and submit a report within 90 days on the origins of COVID-19:

"In a significant turn of events, I'm pleased to see President Biden taken more interest in investigating the origins of COVID-19, however, we need a complete and transparent investigation with real teeth - not just lip-service. As a member of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, I am shocked that the Speaker and Democrats on the Committee have not yet called for a hearing on this issue. 3.5 million people have sadly died from COVID-19, including nearly 600,000 here in the United States. The Administration and intelligence community must demand transparency, access to lab records and answers from the Chinese Communist Party and the United States should lead the charge."
