Governor Chris Sununu Signs 16 Bills Into Law

Statement

Concord, NH -- Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement after signing HB 500, an act relative to reducing school food waste and addressing child hunger into law, along with 15 other bills:

"Allowing New Hampshire schools to partner with nonprofits to put leftover school food to good use is a commonsense move that will serve to help reduce child hunger within our communities," said Governor Chris Sununu. "I am pleased to sign this piece of legislation into law to help strengthen community ties, utilize resources while reducing waste, and take another step forward in combating food insecurity."

Governor Chris Sununu signed the following bills into law, in addition to HB 500:

HB 64, An act relative to renewable generation facility property subject to a voluntary payment in lieu of taxes agreement
HB 88, An act relative to the city of Claremont police commission
HB 126, An act relative to notice of execution of tax lien to mortgages
HB 128, An act adding notification requirements to the weather modification statutes
HB 157, An act relative to the state health improvement plan and the state health assessment and state health improvement plan advisory council
HB 171, An act relative to food in cigar shops
HB 190, An act relative to financial disclosures by legislators
HB 261, An act relative to apprenticeship programs in trade and industry
HB 273, An Act relative to the 50th anniversary of the passage of the 26th amendment, granting the right to vote to 18-21 year olds and celebrating youth and office holding
HB 286, An act establishing a committee to study the response of law enforcement and the criminal justice system to homelessness in NH
HB 356, An act relative to the city of Manchester employees' contributory retirement system
HB 369, An act relative to the use of physical agent modalities by occupational therapists
HB 409, An act relative to filling certain vacancies among members of school boards and other school district offices
HB 437, An act establishing a committee to study the shortage of animal slaughter and meat processing facilities in NH and the implementation of the meat inspection program
HB 442, An act relative to penalties for a school's failure to file department of education reports
HB 500, An act relative to reducing school food waste and addressing child hunger
