Rep. Blunt Rochester Statement on the Death of Capitol Police Officer

Today, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) issued the following statement following an incident at the United States Capitol, resulting in the death of a Capitol Police Officer.

"I am deeply saddened by the death of the Capitol Police Officer this afternoon and am sending my prayers to their family, friends, and the entire Capitol Police family. I'm also praying for the health and wellbeing of the second officer who was injured," said Blunt Rochester. "It is difficult to imagine the pain and heartbreak that the entire Capitol Police community has experienced over the past year. I remain grateful for the courage and commitment of every officer who puts on the uniform to protect those of us with the distinct privilege of working at the Capitol. I will continue to pray for our Capitol Police and for an end to this senseless violence."
