President Trump Has Needlessly Endangered Secret Service Agents, Their Families, Himself And Our Country

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

House Armed Services Committee Vice Chair Anthony G. Brown (MD-04) released the following statement on reports that more than 130 Secret Service have recently been ordered to isolate or quarantine because they tested positive for the coronavirus after traveling with the president for election rallies:

"I wish these Secret Service agents a quick and speedy recovery. As public servants, the brave men and women of the United States Secret Service are sworn to protect the presidency. However, that does not excuse President Trump's routine disregard of critical public health precautions. By refusing to be transparent and to practice the advice of his own public health officials, the president has needlessly endangered these agents and their loved ones, and once again made himself, White House staff, the presidency and this country less safe. President Trump will always put himself before the American people. His selfish actions continue to put people at risk and his refusal to do anything to stop the spread of this virus is costing American lives by the day."
