Hinson Slams PRO Act As Radical Gift To Union Bosses

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) released the following statement expressing her strong opposition to the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, which would eliminate jobs in Iowa and across the country.

"The PRO Act would give more power to union bosses at the expense of workers and small businesses in Iowa. Federal law already guarantees employees' right to organize. This harmful and duplicative legislation would kill jobs and hurt our chances of an economic recovery when we need growth more than ever."

The PRO Act's worst policy provisions include:

Removing Right-to-Work laws adopted by 27 states, including Iowa, that protect workers' freedom to choose whether or not they want to join a union.
Breaching privacy by requiring employers to provide employees' personal information to union bosses, potentially subjecting them to union harassment.
Forcing businesses to comply with new mandates and regulations that are estimated to cost several hundred million dollars.
