Issue Position

I never aspired to be a politician.
But I believe regular people need to be the ones to change how our government works, and who it works. For too long special interests have controlled our State House while the concerns of everyday working families have been ignored. Whether Democrat, Republican, third-party or independent, working-class people across our community have more in common than not. We need leadership that puts partisanship aside, and focuses on doing the work to address the challenges our state faces as we rebuild our economy, improve our healthcare system, and reform our government. I'm running for State Representative to be an independent voice for our community and advocate for everyone- regardless of political affiliation. And I will always be accountable and accessible.

As State Representative, I will fight to:

Get the influence of big money out of politics, and make our government more open and transparent. I'll introduce legislation to end patronage jobs in our State House, enact term limits for state legislators, and refuse campaign contributions from corporate PACs.

Rebuild our economy by incentivizing and supporting small businesses. We must prioritize working people in our recovery, and use this opportunity to create jobs by investing in our infrastructure, modernizing our energy system, and promoting real economic growth- not just taxpayer-funded giveaways for the well-connected.

Reform our healthcare system, so everyone has access to high-quality, affordable care. I'll support our nursing homes with safe staffing legislation, and treat our front-line workers as the heroes they are.

Properly fund our education system from the state-level, and take the pressure off of local property taxes. Working families and seniors can not afford higher property taxes. Our state budget must continue to honor the promises made to Cranston and continue to support our schools and teachers.

Repeal tax cuts for the rich. Middle class families pay their fair share of taxes-- it's time the top 1% did the same. I support proposed legislation to repeal tax cuts for income earners above $485,000/year.

Take on National Grid and work to lower utility costs for residents and businesses. We can invest in sourcing solar energy locally, reducing "delivery charges", and allowing homeowners and businesses the opportunity to sell electricity to their neighbors at a reduced, fair rate.

But most importantly, I will be accountable to you.

Not corporate lobbyists. Not leadership embroiled in scandals and criminal investigations. Not well-connected political insiders. I will be accountable to the people I represent.

Together we can change how our government works, and who it works for.

Please join me.
