Issue Position

As the crown jewel of our natural resources, Lake Erie needs to be protected, promoted and preserved. Lake Erie provides drinking water to 3 million Ohio residents and is a magnet for regional tourism, generating jobs and revenue for Ohio. I was the sponsor and strong advocate for the Great Lakes Compact that includes all the states around the Great Lakes and Canada. During the state budget process, I worked to fund the H2Ohio program, aimed at cleaning up the lake, combating pollution and providing safe drinking water. I am proud of the work I have done and will continue to do to ensure this resource for future generations. It is just an amazing asset.
