Issue Position

With national attention on recent acts of police violence towards unarmed African Americans, we must make changes to public safety and the use of excessive force. As a mother of a young black male, the horror and pain felt from each wrongful unjust act of violence is distressing. I am personally in this fight for justice. Keeping our communities safe requires only a reasonable amount of force. Force should not lead to death. Our campaign has always focused on prioritizing family protections. That's why if elected, I am committed to comprehensive solutions to end police brutality and racial targeting by law enforcement in our state.
