WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) released a statement on the passage of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act by the full House of Representatives:

"This legislation reinforces and clarifies the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978 to provide reasonable accommodations to pregnant employees, so they can have the safest pregnancy possible while continuing to do their job. No one should have to choose between a safe pregnancy and financial security, which is even more important right before having a baby. This is a good, bipartisan bill and I am proud to support it."
