Congresswoman Miller Announces CARES Act Funding for Low-Income Housing

Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today two grants, totaling $46,009, from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The first grant, worth $38,466, is going to the Housing Authority of the City of Huntington and the second grant, worth $7,543, is going to the Housing Authority of the City of Beckley.

"As we reinvest in West Virginia to revitalize our communities, we must focus on creating an environment where every single person has the opportunity to succeed," said Congresswoman Miller. "This funding will help to provide affordable, livable housing options for all West Virginians. Working together, we can make sure that our state remains an incredible place to live, work, and raise a family now and forgenerations to come."

This funding is being allocated from the CARES Act passed by Congress in March of 2020 to HUD to help the Moderate Rehabilitation (Mod) Program prepare and respond the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mod Program provides project-based rental assistance to low income families.
