Issue Position

Nebraska currently allows individuals and businesses to contribute unlimited amounts of money directly to campaigns, with virtually no restrictions. This has a negative effect on our democracy and nowhere is that more evident than the current Governor, who has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on his handpicked candidates for Legislature, attempting to purchase a body that has always been proudly independent. I support a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United. In the Legislature, I will work to curb the influence of money in our elections to create a fair playing field for democracy.
