Issue Position

Supporting opportunities for our youth is priority number one for me. That is why I have been a strong advocated for an educated and trained workforce. I worked to pass legislation that will improve our K-12 preparation for college and technical trades.

I believe in rewarding teachers for improved results and training techniques. I have been a strong supporter of the PROMISE scholarship program and other ways to incentivize businesses to keep more graduates here in West Virginia. I think we should always look for ways to improve operating efficiencies in our school system. I know that our local school boards and schools need more control that is why I support giving county boards of education and schools more control. I support ways we can better train our current workforce as well as providing training opportunities for new job skills.
